History

Scott was born on October 19th, 1964. He started singing and performing when he was in grade school. His first performance was at the age of 8 years old. There was a local talent show in Scotts home town. Out of the blue Scott decided to enter and won second place with a song named "Yankee Doodle Dandy". He played a trumpet in the local school band and played the drums a little, but his real love was the guitar.

Scott learned to play the guitar and started playing locally for friends and family. In 1985 he married Brenda and moved to Arizona where he took classes on electronics. His son Cody was a big influence in Scotts life and was the subject of some of his songs. After completing his education they moved to Nebraska where Scott worked as a radio repairman and helped his wife with a candy route.

In September of 1994 Scott and his family moved to Colorado again where Scott was the manager of a farm and ranch supply store. As things go Scott and his wife divorced in 1995. They are still good friends and Scott visits his son everytime he gets a chance.

Scott had another change in his life when he moved to Winston-Salem, North Carolina for a year or so where he got back into the radio repair business. That lasted about 2 years and Scott once again got the bug to move closer to home. In 1997 he had a job offer in Grand Junction, Colorado so he packed up and moved again.

During the years Scott never quit playing his guitar. He wrote songs that coincided with the different experiences of his life. Scott plays for family get togethers as well as professionally in local clubs. Scott wrote all the songs in this album and truly enjoys playing them for anyone that will listen. You can feel the passion in his voice. People give him a guitar and ask him to play wherever he goes.

When asked how he came up with the title for his album Scott says he was at a family Christmas dinner and had just finished playing Honey Tree. His oldest brother Mike asked if he had recorded any CD's yet. Scott said yes, but just for friends and family. Mike had worked on several websites and asked if he could build one and put it on the internet. Scott said go ahead and if we sell any CD's I will "Split er Down the Middle" with you.
